The Hverfr are one of the races not created by The Three Deities. After The First Snows, many were forced to adapt or die. Particularly the Humans, who for the most part, created structures and traditions to ward away the cold of winter. Some however, those of Toreal Canyon, resorted to changing themselves with magic, infusing themselves with enchantments to imbue themselves with the power necessary to survive. The result was a race that was similar to, but not quite Human.
The Hverfr resemble Humans, discernible only by slight details. Such details include sharp canines, more hair than the average Human, ivory claws in place of nails, and the eyes of a cat.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Size. Hverfr are about the same size as Humans. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 35 feet.
Darkvision. Gifted with the eyes of a cat, your vision is superior to that of a Human's. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Change Shape. You can, as a bonus action, assume the form of an beast, chosen when you make your character, as a Hverfr's animal form is decided at birth. No matter your form, you will still have the eyes of a cat, as in your humanoid form. You can re-assume your humanoid form as a bonus action.
Eyes of The Trees. You can attempt to hide even when you are only lightly obscured by foliage, heavy rain, falling snow, mist, and other natural phenomena.
